βCritical Attack Rework
βοΈ Critical Attack Rework
The Critical Attack system in The Nine Worlds has been completely redesigned to create meaningful build paths, stat investment diversity, and balanced gameplay across weapon types.
π― Overview: What Changed?
Critical Hits no longer ignore Flee. They now require a successful Hit check to land.
Critical Damage no longer has a flat +40% bonus.
Every weapon now has a unique Crit Effect, reflecting its design and combat style.
Critical Damage modifiers from gear (e.g., %Crit Dmg) still apply normally to all Crits.
βοΈ Design Philosophy
βCritical Hits should be thrilling and rewarding, not automatic power. Each weapon brings its own identity, and every stat point matters.β
This system ensures that:
βοΈ Crit builds feel distinct from Raw ATK or Control builds
π² RNG is meaningful but not overwhelming
𧱠Status effects are impactful but not oppressive
π Stat Scaling
INT is now the main stat for increasing your Crit Chance
INT is used as the core scaling stat for crit-effect application (proc success scales with INT through the status system).
π₯ Universal Crit Damage
All Critical Hits deal x1.3 base weapon damage by default.
Some weapons receive higher or lower multipliers depending on their effect type.
On crit, weapons attempt their special effect. If the special effect does not apply (target resists / immune / failed proc), the crit converts into bonus damage for that weapon.
Penetration happens regardless of which effect took part
Critical Damage Bonus:
Players can obtain up to +100% Critical Damage from gear and cards. A hard cap of +120% applies.
Sources include Weapon Cards, Mini-Boss Accessory Cards, Specific Weapons, and Shadow Gear Sets.
This ensures Crit builds are powerful but balanced relative to other offensive options like Physical Penetration and Raw Attack.

π§ Build Strategy Tips
Investing in INT raises your Crit rate, making it the essential stat for Crit builds.
Weapons like Dagger and Spear are ideal for pure burst.
Mace, Axe, and Knuckle are best suited for utility and disruption.
Magic weapons like Staff and Instruments offer sustain-focused Crit benefits.
Effects like Bleeding, Broken Armor and Crippled allow coordinated synergy with other party members.
